Short, and one part of it is unusual enough to explain.

Quick answer

State pages, not town pages — the plumbing-facilities figure this subject rests on is only sound at state level, and pretending otherwise would be the weakest thing published. TubSet is operated by NXTA Flow, which fits no bathrooms and carries out no work.

TubSet is a referral service, not a contractor. We connect homeowners with independent contractors. Contractors are required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands. Every state page sets out who licenses plumbers there and where to check, so you can confirm before work begins. We carry out no work, we sell no fixtures, we do not set prices, and we never charge homeowners anything — the contractors in our network pay us when we route them a call.

The service

TubSet connects homeowners with independent contractors for bathtub replacement, tub-to-shower conversion and bathroom plumbing work. We carry out no work and sell no fixtures.

Where the money comes from

The contractors in our network pay us when we route them a call. Homeowners are never charged anything, and we do not set or see the price you are quoted.

Why we have no town pages

Because we measured the data we would have built them on and it does not support them — a median of 0.7% and 918 towns at exactly zero. The full reasoning is on the coverage page, including the numbers, because publishing the reason is better than publishing the pages.

Where the plumbing figures come from

The injury figures are CDC’s MMWR study of nonfatal bathroom injuries, using 2008 data — we state the year everywhere because it is old. The dimensions are the ADA standards published by the US Access Board, which govern facilities covered by the ADA rather than houses. The housing figures are the American Community Survey, table B25047. All three are named and linked on the pages that use them.

We publish no price for a tub or a bathroom, and no service life for a fixture.
