The dimensions quoted on this site come from a public accommodations standard, not from a rule about your home.

Quick answer

Information is published here and calls are passed on; that is the entire service. TubSet fits nothing, takes no part in any agreement you make with a contractor, and the ADA dimensions it quotes govern public accommodations rather than private homes.

TubSet is a referral service, not a contractor. We connect homeowners with independent contractors. Contractors are required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands. Every state page sets out who licenses plumbers there and where to check, so you can confirm before work begins. We carry out no work, we sell no fixtures, we do not set prices, and we never charge homeowners anything — the contractors in our network pay us when we route them a call.

The agreement is yours and the contractor's

TubSet makes an introduction and then has no further role. What is agreed about a tub replacement or a conversion — the scope, the price, what happens when the old tub comes out and something behind it needs attention — is agreed between you and an independent business.

We are not a party to it, we do not set prices and never see them, and we neither supervise the work nor guarantee it.

The ADA dimensions are a reference, not a requirement for a home

The grab bar dimensions quoted on this site come from the ADA standards, which govern facilities covered by the ADA. Nothing here states or implies that a private dwelling must meet them, and anybody who tells you a home grab bar is "ADA required" is mistaken. Local building codes are a separate matter and vary.

How old the figures are, and why we say so

The injury figures on this site are CDC data from 2008. They are labeled with that year on every page that uses them, because a figure presented without its vintage invites a reader to assume it is current and it is not.

The dimensional standards are reproduced as published and are amended from time to time. None of this is an inspection of your bathroom, and no page here tells anybody what their own bathroom needs.
